A Light Guide Plate works mainly through the principle of Total Internal Reflection (TIR).
The process:

2. How Does Light Travel Inside an LGP?
① Light Injection

LED light sources are usually installed along the edge of the Light Guide Plate.
When the LEDs are turned on:
Light enters the transparent plate from the side;
The optical properties of the material control the light path;
The light travels through the entire plate.
Common LGP materials include:
PMMA (Acrylic)
Polycarbonate (PC)
